About The Red Lion
In a UK food and drink landscape squeezed by rising costs, staff shortages, and constant change, only the sharpest, most adaptable operators survive. We’re ready — combining serious hospitality chops with a flexible, experience-led model and deep community roots.
Set in the historic village of Llanasa, North Wales, The Red Lion is more than just a pub. With two classic bars, a smart restaurant, outside courtyard, and guest accommodation — it’s a destination in its own right.

Food
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
At The Red Lion, food is at the heart of everything we do. Our menus celebrate the very best of Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy. North Welsh lamb and freshly landed seafood to artisan cheeses and breads, every dish reflects a sense of place and quality.
Our kitchen is led by Executive Chef Doug Evans, whose global experience adds a special twist to traditional pub dining. Alongside local favourites, guests can enjoy American-style smoked and barbecued meats, creative vegan and vegetarian dishes, and even seasonal sushi inspired by Doug’s training under Maui chef Kojima — a rare and memorable experience in North Wales.
Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed bar snack, a family afternoon tea, or a celebratory dinner, you’ll find hearty flavours and warm hospitality at the centre of it all. For those exploring the countryside, we also prepare fresh packed lunches to take on the trail.
At The Red Lion, dining is about more than food — it’s about bringing people around the table, sharing good company, and cherishing our time together.

Llanasa is one of those rare Welsh villages where history, landscape, and community blend into something quietly remarkable. Nestled in rolling green hills just a few miles from the coast, it has been a place of settlement, worship, and gathering for more than a thousand years. Its medieval church, dedicated to Saints Asaph and Cyndeyrn, watches over the village, and within its grounds lies the grave of Gruffydd Fychan II — father of the legendary Owain Glyndŵr, the last native Prince of Wales. Pilgrims, poets, and walkers have passed through Llanasa for generations, drawn by sacred routes, ancient woodlands, and the sense of peace that settles over the village. It is beautiful, yes—but more than that, it feels lived-in and loved, a place where time moves a little slower and life feels closer to the land.
